Wedding Planning 101: Engagement Photo Shoot Look
How adorable is this shot?!
Back in August, I posted on Classic Bride about looks for a fall engagement photo shoot. As my fiancé and I are going to take our photos this weekend I am fast at work on our looks. I wanted to share the sort of fall engagement photo shoot looks I am thinking about with all of the Tartan & Sequins readers.
I originally hadn't planned to taking engagement photos as we weren't thinking of leveraging them for our Save The Dates. We still aren't going that route but after seeing all of the photos that wedding website templates require- it's totally necessary! Now that we're doing the photos, I am also very much looking forward to having professional photos of us to hang around the house. You know, to fill all those frames I was told to register for ;)

But what does one wear for a fall e-sesh? It's going to be slightly chilly outside but a sweater or a jacket might be a bit too bulky. I am thinking that a flowy blouse and boots might be the perfect combo. Throw in a couple of great pieces of jewelry and add some wavy curls and the look is pure causal glamour. Check out two of my favorite looks below!
Tory Burch Riding Boots, J.Brand Dark Denim, Tinley Road Cross Front Blouse, Kate Spade Necklace (similar), SkinnyBling Love Knot Earrings, BaubleBar Cheetah Cuff (similar), Benefit Hoola Bronzer
Marc by Marc Jacobs Boots, Joie Martine B Silk Top (similar), J.Brand Dark Denim, Stella & Dot Earrings, J.Crew Classic Link Bracelet, Benefit Posietint Cheek Stain
What do you all think? Any tips for our upcoming engagement photo shoot?!
i always think a bright color photographs better than a print! otherwise i think you're on track! have fun!ReplyDelete
Thanks for the tip!!Delete
Bright colors seem to make pictures pop! And be sure to wear something that you are comfortable in and is you-it'll show in the pics if you aren't comfortable. And most of all have fun :)ReplyDelete

Oh girl I feel you!! Thanks for the advice :)Delete
Yes definitely do bright colors! Prints can be busy and take away from the picture! How exciting :).ReplyDelete

I know nothing about engagement photo's since I was engaged 11 years ago and didn't get them done =( But I know yours will be gorgeous no matter what you choose to wear!!! I can't wait to see them!ReplyDelete
Loving the orange blouse in the first board! I also think a nice wrap dress with tights and boots would work great as well!~BrettReplyDelete
Looks like the perfect setting for Engagement Photos. I'm sure they will be stunning.ReplyDelete
Great blog! So glad I found you, I'm a new follower :)
There is nothing more gorgeous than Napa in the Fall. So beautiful!! I would play it up with ruffles and romantic looks such as a cozy knit. Love this!!ReplyDelete
be yourself and wear something that is true to you! I wore a dress that I wouldn't usually wear and wasn't as happy with my lookReplyDelete
Totally obsessed with both of these looks - especially the Orange Blouse one! Can't wait to see your pictures :)ReplyDelete
