Maxi Skirt Madness
I admit, I was slow to get into the maxi skirt trend. It wasn't that I didn't love a good maxi skirt, it's just that it's rarely warm enough in SF to justify the purchase of one. However, when it is warm in SF, a maxi skirt is straight up the only thing I want to wear. Imagine my excitement when my brother got me this Splendid number for Christmas. Double that excitement when TC surprised me with a trip down to Newport Beach to visit Allison a couple of weeks ago. Was it the perfect time to take my new maxi for a spin? You bet your ass it was.
When I was packing for the trip, we weren't sure if we were going to be spending my birthday on a boat or out and about so I packed both sneakers and booties. We actually still didn't know when I was getting dressed, so I erred on the side of caution and wore my sneakers. I loaded on my Julie Vos baubles and threw on my leather jacket and called it a day. Check out my ensemble.

How do you all like to style your maxis? I need some tips!!
Oh i love that Splendid maxi!! Need to get my hands on that. I have a black maxi short-sleeve dress from gap that I lived in this past summer. I would usually belt it with my chocolate brown leather belt and throw a jean jacket over it when it was cooler. Great post! xoxReplyDelete
I have yet to find a maxi that works on me, but I love this look on you!ReplyDelete

I have that same skirt in blue! I like it with a tank top or v neck like you have and my jean jacket!ReplyDelete
Ah this post could not have come at a better time. I recently broke my leg :( and am now trying to cover the hardware that is unfortunately on it. Since I cannot fit it into any of my non-sweatpants-pants, the maxi skirt seems to be the way to go and I have been hunting a bunch of sites for good deals on them. Really like your slightly-biker take on the maxi1ReplyDelete
