Love Letter: Claridge + King

How do I love Claridge + King? Let me count the ways - I love the superior fit, classic styling, versatility, and quality of everything they create. It's almost as though Claridge + King went through my closet, found everywhere that my wardrobe was lacking, and created something to fill the void.

Their line is composed of pitch-perfect essentials - the best tank to ever grace the Earth, button-downs that are truly deserving of their "perfect shirt" moniker, and pretty/polished/comfortable dresses galore. I think that I wear one of their pieces literally every day, and in pretty much every week's "How We Style It."

I am obsessed with the bio provided on their website, and wanted to share it with you guys to give you a little background on how the brand originated!

"Sisters Laurann Claridge and Lizbeth King grew up in Connecticut and came of age in the 80s wearing their dad’s button-downs. Although the duo left behind their preppy signet rings, uniform kilts and L.L. Bean Blucher Mocs when they graduated from boarding school, they never outgrew their fascination with classic menswear–most especially the versatile dress shirt. In 2008, following in their entrepreneurial grandparents footsteps (who ran their own business in New York’s garment district), the duo established Claridge + King, a clothing line for women inspired by menswear fabrics and tailoring." I created outfit boards for five of my wish-listed Claridge + King items, including the scenario where I imagined myself wearing the outfit pictured! Do I plan on using these outfit boards in a powerpoint presentation to sell Ben on my 5 POINT plan to update my wardrobe for Spring? Of course I do! I am a business lady, my friends!

You know what's going to help my proposed spending plan go down smooth with ol' Daddy Warbucks? Claridge + King has very generously offered to extend a 20% discount to Tartan & Sequins readers, with the offer code "TARTAN," good through Monday, May 21, 2012. So we can all describe ourselves as fiscally responsible while looking amazing in some new threads!

  1. Huge fan of C & K! I wore my white button down on my wedding day while I got ready. I had it monogrammed with my new initials on the pocket and my wedding date on the cuff!
