How We Style It: Leather Leggings

Oh, hello, I didn't see you there - I'm just taking a breather on this curb in my leather leggings.
Because being fabulous is exhausting.

When our lovely friend Wendy asked that we do a HWSI feature showing how we style leather leggings, we were totally on board - they're a super cute trend for fall and are surprisingly versatile.

I have to admit, I only bought my first pair of coated denim jeans from Zara a few months ago (seen here). After taking that plunge, I felt fully ready for the fabulousity that leather leggings promised. This may not seem like a big step, but to give you an idea where my head's at in terms of "edgy sexiness," I bought these heels last weekend (and OF COURSE now they are on sale, damn you and your irresistible siren song, J. Crew!!! I'm returning them and re-buying them) and sent a couple of girls at work a link to the pic and noted that they were my new "sexy secretary shoes." Then I followed up immediately after looking at the pic again and was like, please note that for someone who doesn't really wear heels, these look totally Dita von Teese to me.

But, I digress. The point is, sometimes trends are hard for someone who takes most of her fashion cues from Lucille Bluth and CeCe Rhodes. Julia, on the other hand, has been working leather leggings for eons. I kind of love them as an option to leggings or our uniform J. Crew Pixies/Minnies. And, since we're not chamillionaires, I think it goes without saying that by "leather" leggings I mean some manner of faux-leather.

Thanks so much for the HWSI suggestion, Wendy! Since you're supermodel-tall with legs up to your ears, we have no doubt you will look fabulous in leather leggings however you style them! And if anyone else has HWSI suggestions, HIT US WITH THEM at TartanandSequins@gmail.com! We love hearing from you!
