Oregon Adventure

Catching up on my magazines while sipping a mint julep with fresh mint from the yard.

This past weekend my fiance and I, along with a few other friends, headed up to southern Oregon for the long weekend. I will admit upfront that I am not the outdoorsy type. I might even go so far as to say I am the complete opposite. When an email came through about "sleeping outside," I was terrified. I thought it was a joke but it wasn't. However, my fiance loves this sort of thing so off we went.

The home from the river.

We arrived Thursday night to the home where we were staying. Right on the Applegate river, the home had been build by our friend's great-grandfather in the 1940s. The original design had been really well preserved so it was like staying in a piece of history - super cool!

The trip consisted of adventures like "floating" down the Applegate (the official term is floating but I def felt more like I was battling for survival) and hiking, coupled with more relaxing activities like laying out, picking berries and wine tasting (much more my speed). The weather was absolutely perfect- warm during the day and cooler at night. We slept in every day and BBQed every night. It was absolutely lovely.

As per usual, I snapped a bunch of pics, so I thought I'd share with you all. Check it out!

Fresh blackberries everywhere!
Don't mind if I do.
The orchard.
Some of the delish food from the weekend - ribs, lemon salad, tri-tip and panzanella!
Veggie skewers. I could not get enough of these!
Downtown Jacksonville.

Oh yes, this happened.

And I'm glad it did because I got to try this amazing fresh berry cocktail.
