Girl Crush of the Week: Devon Haire of Devon Baer Designs

We are so incredibly thrilled to be featuring the insanely fabulous Devon Haire of Devon Baer Designs as our Girl Crush of the Week! Raised in Philadelphia and currently based in Manhattan, Devon launched her amazing business, Devon Baer Designs, in 2010 after 10 years in the industry.

Devon is on a mission to infuse her brand with the same casually-chic-with-an-eclectic twist sensibility that she brings to her own life. She uses amazingly luxurious fabrics, which coupled with her timeless, classic silhouettes, make her pieces long-term closet go-to's. Her designs can be dressed up or dressed down, styled a million-and-one different ways, and are adored by fashionistas far and wide - whether their style skews uber-preppy, gypset, or cutting-edge trendy. Devon's shop initially launched on Etsy, but quickly grew by leaps and bounds, and she has moved her storefront to her ultra-fab website. 

As if being gorgeous, a killer entrepreneur, and insanely stylish wasn't enough, Devon is also a total sweetheart with a love for The Notebook and horseback riding - we are completely obsessed with her, and know that you will be too!

• Style icons? Style Icon should be easy but it's a tough one for me. I admire so many women for their sophistication, beauty, and style. One woman that stands out in my mind is Amber Valetta in the David Yurman ads. Total Gorgeousness. I've been known to say "I want to be her."

• Design philosophy? When all else fails, go classic!

 

• Favorite book of all time? I simply do not read enough! But if I had to choose it would be The Notebook. Noah Callhoon is my Boy Crush and I fall back in love every time I read it! 

 

• Best advice you ever received? At a very young age my dad taught me to give 150% to each and everything I choose to do. I try to follow through with this in every aspect of my life. Love, Family, Friends, Job and sport. 

 

• Favorite stores? Does Circa Who count if I've never been? Their website has me swooning daily and when the day comes to leave the city and buy a house I will absolutely rent a U-Haul and drive it down to Palm Beach to load up! The NYC Flagship William and Wayne is also a favorite. I often poke around the store shopping for gifts and home accents, or simply to enjoy the vintage jazz music playing in the background. 

 

• Dream place to live? I am a home body at heart, and at the moment, searching for some peace and quiet. Saying goodbye to summer weekends in the country is always difficult, however I am excited to say hello to Fall in New York.
  

• The one product you're obsessed with right now? My posey Benetint. It's the perfect lip and cheek stain after a day on the beach! Also obsessing over anything tweed and anything tortoise!

• Biggest indulgence?  Deep Tissue & accupressure massages! You feel glorious the next day!

 

• Girl Crush? My photographer, Rachel McGinn. She epitomizes effortless beauty, oozes creativity, has a booming business  and is a mother of 3!
• Favorite song? Favorite song right now, Springsteen by Eric Church. My husband has really turned me on to country rock!

 

• Prized possession? My wedding photos. We still have yet to make an album although we do have an online slideshow that I watch to re-live my wedding day. 

 

• Current hangout? Central Park. I lived downtown for so long and therefore rarely had the opportunity to enjoy the park. I am now taking full advantage!

• Best place on earth? In the saddle  or anyplace where I'm with my sister's babies! Both places typically bring me to tears (of happiness, of course)!

 

• Favorite drink? Morning= Starbucks, afternoon=water with lemon and no ice, evening= pinot noir or sauvignon blanc depending on the season!
