Cinco de Mayo Drinks



Cinco de Mayo is just around the corner and it's time to get planning for the festivities. The good folks at Sauza sent me some tequila so this past weekend I was experimenting with some cocktails to serve on Cinco de Mayo. My husband usually hates being involved with anything related to the blog, but he was not complaining when he got to taste test all of my experiments. Here are two Sauza tequila cocktails that would be perfect for Cinco de Mayo.



Grapefruit Jalapeño Margarita Recipe 

Ingredients
4 Shots 
Sauza® Blue Silver 100% Agave Tequila
1/2 Jalapeño, sliced
2 Grapefruits, juiced
2 Limes, juiced
1 Tsp Agave (optional)

Salt, Sugar and Cayenne for the rim


Directions

  1. Thinly slice up 1/2 of a raw jalapeño and add it to a jar containing 4 shots of tequila. Let sit 1-24 hours. NOTE: The longer you let it infuse, the spicier it will get so be careful!
  2. After the tequila is infused, strain it or remove the jalapeños. 
  3. Add to a cocktail shaker the following:
    1. 2 parts tequila
    2. 2 parts grapefruit juice
    3. 1 part lime juice 
    4. Splash of agave (if desired).
  4. Do a quick stir and taste. If you want it sweeter, add more agave.
  5. Add one ice cube and shake vigorously.
  6. Rim the glasses with sugar, salt and cayenne. 
  7. Add ice, margarita and ENJOY!





Spicy Senorita

Ingredients

4 Shots Sauza® Blue Silver 100% Agave Tequila
1 Beer (I used Corona Light)
2 Limes, juiced
A dash of hot sauce
Salt, Sugar and Cayenne for the rim


Directions

  1. Rim the glasses with sugar, salt and cayenne. 
  2. Add ice and all ingredients to glasses and stir.
  3. Enjoy - yes, it's that simple!
