Girl Crush of the Week: Ellyse Coombes

When I first came across the blog Running Late, I was immediately impressed with the blog's creator, Ellyse Coombes, style. She mixes preppy pieces with glam numbers and adds an edge effortlessly. Ellyse has never met a color, shape or sequined number she doesn't like. And given our penchant for sequins too, it was a match made in heaven!

• Style icons? I really love Emma Watson and Blake Lively’s style. They are both so glamorous and they dress age-appropriate. Also, I love Blair’s style from Atlantic-Pacific, but who doesn’t?!
• Design philosophy? I like anything feminine and glamorous. I’m a total girly girl. I love sequins, sparkles, studs, etc. I also like a classic tailored look but with an edge.

I have zero use for these but all the desire in the world!

• Favorite stores? BCBGMAXAZRIA would have to be my store/brand. I have worked for them for the past 4 years and I am in love. I have never found a brand that fits me as well as they do. My second love would have to be Zara. I love all of their blazers and they make the most adorable dresses! I also can’t forget to name JCrew!

• Dream place to live? Right now, I’m not sure where I want to live. I’m from Nebraska and I always said I wanted to move, but I just moved to LA for the summer and now I miss Nebraska. So I’m a little confused at the moment haha.
• The one product you're obsessed with right now? Moroccan Oil. I can’t live without it!

• Biggest indulgence? Clothes in general. I spend waaaay too much money on clothing. I need to start saving!
• Girl crush? Carrie Underwood and Katy Perry. They couldn’t be more opposite but I love them both!

• Favorite song? I think my favorite song changes daily, but I have a secret obsession with Kelly Clarkson. I love her music. She’s my guilty pleasure!
• Prized possession? My dog! Does that count?
• Current hangout? Since I’m new to LA, I’m currently trying to find a new hangout, but back home I like to go wherever my friends are :)

• Best place on earth? Where my friends and family are!
• Favorite drink? A frozen margarita or an iced tea!
