White Moto Jacket

Just when I think my moto jacket collection is almost complete or that I may be bordering on obsessive, a new one floats into my life and makes me feel completely inadequate. The newest moto jacket on my list? A WHITE ONE. I saw the one sported above by Kimberly of Penny Pincher Fashion (you may remember her as a former T&S Girl Crush) and knew I needed one in my life immediately. Don't believe me? Check out this text between a friend and I.

I mean seriously, how cool does the white moto jacket look? It's so clean and fresh yet edgy. After a serious internet search, I have found some fabulous options for affordable white moto jackets:

What do you all think? Will you be scooping up one of these faboo white moto jackets?

Like To Know It - What's The Deal?

If you all are on Instagram, I'm sure you have seen bloggers going on and on about LIKEtoKNOW:it (myself included). I'll admit it, even though I am a blogger and part of the Reward Style network (the brand that created LIKEtoKNOW:it), it took me awhile to figure out exactly what it was. In the event that some of you are also not totally sure, here are the details.

LIKEtoKNOW:it is a service that allows you to shop my Instagrams. What does that really mean? Well, when I upload an outfit pic to Instagram, I have loaded the items I'm wearing into the LIKEtoKNOW:it tool at the same time. After you register for LIKEtoKNOW:it, all you have to do is "like" my Instagram photo and the outfit details, to include live links, get sent to you via email.

This service is fabulous because I post way more outfit photos on Instagram than on the blog and people regularly ask me for details. Well, ask no more! All you need to do now is register for LIKEtoKNOW:it and like away!

Blind Wine Tasting Party

The line up - six bottles of red.

As you all may know by now, I love to entertain. My husband and I love having all of our friends over for BBQs, and I also love having just the girls over for dinner too. My girlfriends and I usually rotate houses and do a potluck style. This time, I wanted to do something a little different, so this past weekend, I hosted a blind wine tasting. It was so, so fun and I recommend all of you hosting one with your friends too!

Yummy appetizers to munch on during the wine tasting.

The concept is that everyone brings two of the exact same bottles of wine. For this tasting, I asked that everyone brings red wines since there is so much variety with reds. One of the bottles is entered in the blind tasting and the second bottle is for the winner of the tasting to take home. That's right, the prize for bringing the best-tasting wine is the entire second set of wines!

As for execution, my husband totally helped out with this one. Since he wasn't participating, he was the one who gathered all of the bottles and placed them in brown paper bags with numbers. He was careful to remove the seal at the top of the bottles and secured the bags with raffia.

So once everything was all set up, everyone got a notecard, pen and post-its to mark their favorites. As we began tasting, everyone used their own method of ranking, knowing that they would have to choose their first, second and third favorites at the end. Since there were six of us, we tasted six wines and then voted. We did a slow reveal of the three that got the least amount of votes and then went through number three, two and one. At the end, the Cline Zinfandel was crowned victorious!

So those are the details on the bling wine tasting! LMK if you have any questions at all.

Boyfriend Jean Style

My life has been a source of turmoil the past couple of weeks. No, not real turmoil, but rather the kind of turmoil that only someone obsessed with fashion could experience. You know, 'how do I find the perfect pair of boyfriend jeans and when I have them, how do I know if they fit?' I know, my life is so complicated.

But seriously, I have had two pairs of boyfriend jeans at home for a couple of weeks now. I'd try them on every night and every morning with multiple looks, trying to decide A) which size worked best and B) did I even look cute in them? After deep thought and analysis (texting at least 7 of my friends selfies asking their opinion) I have come to a conclusion.

Boyfriend jeans are simply not flattering on 99% of the population, models and stick thin broads are the exception. As a normal person, wearing boyfriend jeans means accepting this fact. But fear not, there is hope. I believe that by making all other elements of the outfit fabulous, you can pull them off.

Of course, the easy answer is to pair boyfriend jeans with heels. It immediately creates a more balanced and feminine proportion. However, back to the normal person here, what if you want to rock boyfriend jeans in a more casual way, say to work or on the weekend. Can they look good casual?

This post is my best effort at answering that question. I paired them with fancier, more classic pieces like the black tank and blazer, and added some extra glamour with the sparkly shoes. I finished off the look with my tan cross-body bag and cocktail ring.

Lemon Orzo Salad with Asparagus, Spinach, and Feta Recipe

It's been awhile since I shared any new recipes with you all but I've got a good one today.

I don't know about you, but because it's just my husband and me at home, using up all of our produce can be a challenge. After I found myself wasting one too many bunches of kale and/or spinach I decided to be a little smarter in my meal planning. I did some hunting on Pinterest and found this yummy lemon orzo salad recipe which I modified to my liking (aka cranked up the vegetable portion). Spoiler alert- it's super, super yummy and stays fresh for days. Please see below for my recipe:

Lemon Orzo Salad with Asparagus, Spinach, and Feta (modified from here)
Serves 4

1 cup orzo
Salt-about 1/2 tsp. for boiling water
4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 teaspoon coconut oil
2 full bunches asparagus, cut into 1 inch pieces
1 full bunch or bag fresh spinach
Juice of 2 large lemons
1/4 cup feta cheese
Salt and pepper, to taste

  1. In a medium sauce pan, bring 4 cups of water to boil. Add the salt. Stir in orzo. Cook until according to package directions for al dente, about 8-9 minutes. Drain orzo and set aside.
  2. In a small sauce pan, saute garlic in coconut oil. Add in asparagus pieces. Saute for 3-4 minutes. Stir in spinach. Cook until asparagus is tender and the spinach shrinks down (abount another 1-2 minutes).
  3. Put the orzo in a medium bowl and add in the vegetables. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the orzo and vegetables. Stir. Season with salt and pepper. Taste-add more lemon juice if you wish. If you need more juice, go ahead.
  4. Sprinkle feta cheese over the top of the salad. Serve warm.

I hope you enjoy this salad as much as my husband and I did!

Theme Wedding Attire

A good friend of mine is getting married at the end of this summer and, being the fashionista she is, has two themes in mind for her wedding events. First up, for the rehearsal dinner, the theme is Country Cocktail. Second up, the main event, the wedding, is themed James Bond in the Woods. As you can tell, these themes can be tricky to shop for so I have begun my search.

Today's post will focus on the Country Cocktail theme which, as expected, can mean many different looks. For me, it's actually even less about the dress and more about the styling. Here are my general guidelines:
  • Nothing White: This really should be a no-brainer but because it's "country" and there are a ton of white boho options it bears repeating- do not wear white to the rehearsal dinner unless you are the bride. Some white as part of the pattern is acceptable but it should not be the dominant color. Don't be tacky and steal the bride's thunder.
  • Level of Fancy: The country element is going to knock down the cocktail formalness a bit. Avoid anything black/satin/sequined/lace/etc.
  • Boho vs Polish: More boho dresses should be paired with polished hair and accessories OR more cocktail-y dresses with more free hair and accessories.
Keeping those things in mind, here are some dress and hair options that I think would work for the affair:

Cocktail Dresses with Relaxed Hair
Joie, Finders Keepers, Rory Beca

Headed to a similar affair this summer? Here are even more options:
