Girl Crush of the Week: Melissa Richardson of Style Me Montana
Now, you may have thought that my Girl Crush of the Week series was over, because well, I haven't shared one in quite some time. WELL, never fear, the series is back with a vengeance with several super cool gals. The first I'd like you to meet is the adorable Melissa of the blog Style Me Montana. Please join me in getting to know this blogger a little better!
Style icons?
Gwen
Stephani + Nicole Richie. I just love Gwen's funky crazy style. She is
always coming up with fun, fresh ways to mix up her style! I also
secretly want her platinum hair and signature red lip. Someday, I'll
just have to do it! I love Nicole for her boho side...she's always
wearing flowy, beautifully printed fabrics that seem to tell a
story. She's adorable--and makes me wish I lived in 1975!
Favorite book?
I always have to answer this question with my current favorite book because I can never quite decide on one all-time favorite. So for now, it's Garth Stein's The Art of Racing in the Rain. An amazing story about a man and his golden retriever. Maybe I'm just a little partial to pet stories,
since I have a black lab named Andre who is 2 1/2 and gives himself
baths by rubbing himself in snowbanks. He is my most favorite thing and
often gets press on my Facebook and Instagram pages (sometimes sporting
neon nail polish and wearing chunky necklaces)...
I'm so not a perfume girl! I
am drawn to more masculine-smelling scents, and I have a few bottles of
perfume, but never end up wearing them. Just really never has been my
thing!
Interior design philosophy?
Funky!
I love mixing vintage pieces & modern ones. Think a modern sofa
from CB2 + a gold antique mirror from Italy. Perfect!
Best "hidden gem" store?
I have to be a bit biased here and say the boutique I manage, The Village Shop. It's in this tiny little ski resort town of Whitefish, Montana.
For Montana, it's a fashion gem! Would you have thought you could come
to Montana and shop designer finds like the latest Citizens Of Humanity
denim, Free People tops, and Frye boots?! It's so fun to bring big-name
fashion to such a small town, because people love it!
Must-have beauty product?
Coconut oil! I use it for so many things! Lotion, face cleanser, makeup remover... the list goes on!
Favorite song?
No
one favorite song, but I love a lot of dancey stuff ranging from
Santigold to The Red Hot Chili Peppers to Frank Sinatra, and my husband
also gets me into bands like Killswitch Engage and Avenged Sevenfold...
and then I steal his band t-shirts and mix them into my wardrobe.
Secret addiction?
TV shows I can watch on Netflix, since we don't have cable, so The Office, Dexter, Breaking Bad, House of Cards...
Motto/quote to live by?
"Make today ridiculously
amazing!" I'm such a huge believer of being happy right now, in
the moment. If you start a day with that attitude and the commitment to
choose to be optimistic, things are bound to work out!
Chia Seed Synergy Cherry Kombucha. Addicted!
My bracelet stack isn't complete without...
A skinny gold bracelet with a sparkly tiger head on on it. It makes me smile and reminds me to see the lighter side of things.

I get my sweat on by...
It's ALL about CrossFit! I go at least 4 times a week. It's totally addicting. Never thought I'd be so excited about living heavy weights, flipping tires, climbing ropes, and doing handstands. Love it--and the excuse to do my part to keep Lululemon thriving!
