Hot Child in the City

If you follow me on Instagram, you are aware that I recently purchased a neon pink/coral jacket. You also probably know that I wore it to work. Because why wouldn't a neon moto jacket be appropriate for work? Thank God I work in advertising.

Flower Power

Another day, another hippie moment for me. I'm not sure what has gotten into me, but must admit I sort of like it.

H&M Sunglasses (similar), Zara Blouse (similar), Bauble Bar Love Necklace
Vintage Necklace, Abercrombie Shorts (stealsplurge), Dorothy Perkins Boots (similar)

I spent the past weekend in LA with my family and when heading out to the estate sales and downtown, this outfit seemed just right. I had originally purchased this Zara top to wear as a cover-up at my bachelorette party, but was so in love with the print that I had to find other ways to wear it. For this look, I belted it and paired it with some jean shorts that I made from an old pair of Abercrombie jeans (the horror I know) and my glitter boots.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend & Thank You

First of all, I want to thank everyone who took the time to fill out my content questionnaire! Your honest feedback is really what helps T&S evolve as a brand. You all seem to want more outfit, beauty and home decor posts, so I will get to work on that!

Second of all, I want to wish everyone a lovely Memorial Day Weekend. I hope everyone is able to rest and relax while still having a good time. We are off work on Friday so I will be heading down to LA for some time with my family. I know I just had a vacation in Palm Springs, "I've had too many vacations" said no one ever :)

Have a safe and happy Memorial Day everyone!

Lauren's Looks for Less - Jessica Alba Leopard Maxi

Hello T&S readers! I'm currently struggling with my identity...I always thought my main girl was Blake Lively (we've had a very serious relationship since her 'Traveling Pants' days) but when I was tooling about the celebrity sites looking for an inspiration picture, I found myself flagging look after look by Jessica Alba. Blake will always be my #1 love, but it looks like Jessica's got a new shopping partner if she's interested.

Once again, I love how effortlessly pulled together Jessica Alba looks in this maxi skirt ensemble. The only thing I would lose is the bag - it's a little too heavy for the airy summer look. I would go with a bright crossbody instead, like the one pictured below. Here are the other steals and deals I found to re-create Jessica's look. I went with a leopard print skirt instead of a blue pattern for our favorite T&S blogger (see here and here):

Old Navy Denim Jacket $29.94

Gap Body Sheer V-neck Tank $24.95

F21 Maxi Skirt $19.80

C.Wonder Cork Wedge Sandal $148 with 25% off!

Target Merona Crossbody with Turnlock $22.99

Price tag for all five pieces? Just $210. Go scoop up those sandals before the 25% off ends! Thanks so much for reading :)

80 Degrees in Napa

H&M Sunglasses (a gift from my good friend Britt), Jennifer Miller Earrings (similar),
Everly Dress (similar here here and here), Steven Heels

I will openly admit that I went a little nuts shopping for my bachelorette party. I only needed three dresses but somehow I ended up with five whoops. You've already seen dresses one, two and three here and dress number four I am saving for my rehearsal dinner. Dress number five, I loved, but had no specific occasion for. That is, until our wedding planner suggested that we have our wedding menu tasting at the actual site of the wedding on an 80 degree day in Napa. Naturally, I took full advantage of the occasion and rocked my new summer dress :)

In a rare guest appearance - my handsome fiancé!

Third Night in Palm Springs

After rocking a black dress and then a white one for my first two nights in Palm Springs, I knew I had to step things up a notch in the color department for the last night of my bachelorette party. Patterns are hard for me (I know, I am so lame), but the second I tried this dress on, I knew it was the one. It also didn't hurt that I had bought these teal suede heels at Zara literally 30 minutes before with no idea what I'd wear with them. My friend Carolyn had convinced me that I would be surprised at how many things I owned that matched the shoes and I am glad I listened to her! Talk about a match made in heaven with this dress :)

Second Night in Palm Springs

Kenneth Jay Lane Earrings (similar), French Connection Dress, LAMB Heels

For my official bachelorette party on Friday night, the theme was "animal print" as an homage to my love for all things leopard, snakeskin and the like. However, in a surprising turn of events, I could not find any animal print dresses that I liked- WTF?! So I pulled a major bachelorette move and wore a white dress with my snakeskin shoes and clutch. I was of course running late to the party, so we only snagged a couple of pics. I'll share more from the evening in my party recap post :)

Big News: Allison's Moving to Columbus!

You'll recognize me when I move into your neighborhood
because I'll be carrying everything I own like a psychotic hobo.
That's right, y'all. Shine up your Buckeye necklaces and hold onto your winter coats, because on June 19, Ben, Clementine and I are going to be packing up the Winnebago (ok not really, we're taking a plane, but whatever) and moving back to our hometown of Columbus, Ohio for Ben to begin his Neonatology Fellowship at Nationwide Children's Hospital! Clementine and I are both incredibly proud of our main man for getting a spot in such a prestigious program, and we know he'll be an amazing Neonatologist as he spends all of his downtime dealing with two girls (us) who are needier than newborn babies.

Our time in Newport has been an amazing experience that we wouldn't trade for anything in the world, and although we're going to miss bronzing on the beach in January, we're incredibly excited to get back home to our families and friends.

As we edge closer and closer to our move date, I've been thinking about all the things that thrill me about Columbus, and thought I'd share my top 5:

1. Shopping at the amazeballs Grandview Mercantile to furnish our new place.
2. Tailgating outside The Shoe on football Saturdays listening to Steely Dan.
3. Regularly stocking up on amazing organic veggies from my parents' house.
4. Casual weeknight dates at Figlio.
5. Having a reason to buy a truly rad winter coat come October.

Cheeky Chartreuse Cover-Up

Recently I have become really into this chartreuse color. Somewhere between yellow and green and pretty and ugly, chartreuse is one of my new favorite colors. Don't believe me? Yep, I own a leather jacket in the same color.

But I digress. When I saw this sucker at Zara a few weeks ago, I knew I had to have it. Between the color and the fact that it's part-tunic, part-dress, part-cover-up, it's one of those things you just have to try on. I threw it on over my new LSpace bikini, paired it with some white, tan and gold accessories and headed to brunch on my second morning in Palm Springs at Cheeky's.

Now, I'm just trying to figure out how I can rock this sucker IRL to keep the party going...

First Night in Palm Springs

As you all know, I just spent the weekend in Palm Springs for my bachelorette party. While a full recap is in the works, I wanted to share my looks with you in the meantime as it seems from the survey that you all are interested in more outfit posts :)

H&M Black Maxi Dress (in stores now but this and this are also great options),

On my first evening in Palm Springs, I was instructed by my Man of Honor Mark to wear something casual (translation, "I don't want you to wear heels and complain"). Of course, it's Palm Springs through and you want to be glamorous so I was looking for something with the perfect balance. While I was originally searching for something bright and crazy, I couldn't resist this black maxi dress from H&M. I paired it with this massive gold belt, gold jewelry and my GiGi New York clutch to amp things up. Here are some pics we took before heading out to dinner. I had to include a pic of my friend Brandi's amazing outfit above too! Just in case you were can't tell, it's a one-piece! I might need to steal borrow that for my honeymoon Brandi...

Mixing Florals and Stripes

If any of you follow me on Pinterest, it should come as no surprise that I have recently gotten really into the idea of mixing florals and stripes. As someone who rarely wears prints, this is sort of a big deal for me haha. However, I just think the combo is so fun and chic, I can't resist dabbling in it. Here are some of my favorite bloggers styling the look.

And then I did a little mixin' and a matchn' of my own:

River Island Blazer, Theory Dress, 3.1 Philip Lim Bag, Norma Kamali Sunglasses, Zara Heels

What do you all think? Are you digging this look right now? Any great pieces that you know of to make this work?

PS, if you haven't already, I would be SUPER appreciative if you could fill out my 5 question content questionnaire to help make T&S even better :)

Content Questionnaire

Jenna Lyons taking the T&S survey, duh!

In an effort to make sure I am providing you all the best content possible, because, well, you all are simply the best, I've put together a quick little survey today. It's only 5 questions and if you have the time, it would be great if you could take a look and share your thoughts with me.

Here is the links: T&S Content Questionnaire

Thanks so much everyone!

Hippie Dippie Days

I don't know what has gotten into me, but I have gotten really into the hippie dippie look recently. I suspect it may be a combination of Coachella + these LSpace bikinis, but it's hard to say. A few weeks ago, I hit up Zara for a dress for my bachelorette party and while I was there, I tried on this amazing ivory beaded number. I didn't get it that day, but to be honest, I couldn't stop thinking about it. That is the true test as to whether you should really buy something right? So I bought it and you know what, I'm obsessed. On Friday night, TC and I had a drink on our roof before dinner and we snapped some pics. Check it out.
